The Donnelly Huckleberry Festival brings huckleberry season celebrations to central Idaho, near the popular resort town of McCall. It's a more southern alternative to the Wallace festival, set against the stunning backdrop of Valley County's mountains and meadows.

A Different Part of Idaho

While most North Idaho events stick to the CdA/Sandpoint corridor, Donnelly is down near McCall — about three hours south of Coeur d'Alene. The drive takes you through some of Idaho's most beautiful mountain scenery, and the McCall area is a summer destination in its own right.

What to Expect

  • Huckleberry everything — the star of the show
  • Craft vendors and local artisans
  • Food booths with festival favorites
  • Mountain-town atmosphere in a relaxed, family-friendly setting

Same Weekend as Wallace

Both the Donnelly and Wallace huckleberry festivals happen the same weekend (August 14–16). They serve different geographic audiences — Wallace is 50 miles east of CdA on I-90, while Donnelly is three hours south. Pick the one that fits your travel plans, or make a long weekend of one or the other.

About Donnelly and McCall

Donnelly sits at the north end of Long Valley, just 14 miles from McCall. The area is known for Payette Lake, Brundage Mountain ski resort, and a strong arts community. If you're already planning a McCall trip in August, the festival is a perfect add-on.
